About Albert Lee Daw, MD, FACS

I am a retired educator, trauma and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeon, and college teacher (anatomy and physiology, biology, world cultural geography, and surgical technology). I love to teach.

I graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in psychology, and from the University of Maryland Medical School with a degree in medicine. I am a board-certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, obtained after a four-year surgical residency at Prince Georges General Hospital, Cheverly, Maryland, where I learned a great deal about dangers and how to fix and prevent many.

I am a proud life partner with my sweet and very intelligent wife, Margaret, who is also a fabulous dancer; we met in a dance studio.

I enjoy traveling, particularly to Mexico. However, I am a cosmopolite and preacher against: delicious au jus, feeding honey to infants, aggressive dog attacks, hiding money under the bed, “Spectatoritis,” extreme machismo, sleep deprivation, and blindsiding blind spots.

Thank you.

P.S.: At one time I was very proud to be called “Leaping Panther of the Blue Grass” around a campfire with the Boy Scouts.
